Bio

Alzenith Ellanora Hodges was the daughter of Augustus Richard "Bo" Hodges from Old Imperial Calcasieu Parish, LA and Alzenith Elizabeth Insall from Avoyelles Parish, LA. She was born July 21, 1873. Her parents lived in Louisiana until 1868. From there they moved to Gonzales Co, TX, where Alzenith was born. After spending nine years there, they returned to Old Imperial Calcasieu Parish, where they remained. She married George Reilly Baggett I on July 21, 1887, her 14th birthday; George was 23 years old. Alzenith and George were the parents of: Alfred Harrison Baggett 9/12/1889, Cora Isabelle Baggett 5/13/1892, Flora Elizabeth Baggett 1/21/1896, Olla Mae Baggett 6/7/1898, Ella Nora Baggett 1/18/1901, and George Reilly Baggett II 4/18/1904. George passed away three months before his last child was born. In approximately 1925, Alzenith moved with all her children (except Cora) and a nephew, Thomas Melton Baggett, whom she was raising, to Oroville, Butte Co, CA. Alzenith never remarried and always lived near her children. She died on August 15, 1959 in Butte Co, CA and was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oroville, Butte Co, CA.
