Bio
Mary Ann Foitek, 72, of DeRidder, La., passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at her home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeRidder with Father Jude Brunnert officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in West, Texas, Saturday, July 24, following a 10 a.m. rosary and memorial service at the Church of the Assumption. Father Ed Karasek will direct the services in West. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La., with a rosary at 7 p.m. Mary Ann was born in West, Texas, to the late Joseph John Ruzicka and Johnnie Lou Kuykendall Ruzicka, and where she attended West High School. She was a licensed practical nurse employed at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder and other various health care agencies. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeRidder, where she was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Pat had been a resident of DeRidder since 1963. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 47 years, Frank J. Foitek, of DeRidder; son, Joe Foitek, of DeRidder; daughters, Valerie Foitek, of Dallas, Joanna Morris, of Corpus Christi, and Belitha Ann Browder, of Bossier City, La.; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, John Joe Ruzicka, of Georgetown.
