Bio

Fred A. Krizan, 89, of Bellmead, passed away Saturday, July 10 at a local nursing home. Military graveside services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Waco Memorial Park with Jimmy Lane officiating. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Fred was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Frank and Annie (Hromadka) Krizan. He served in the U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry Division during World War II in Germany and he was a P. O. W. He was wounded three times, receiving the Purple Heart and Silver Star Medals. Fred was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 4819 and St. Mark Lutheran Church. Fred was a paint contractor for over 40 years. His wife, Irene (Hromadka) Krizan, preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughters, Doris Ann Lane and husband, Jimmy, of Bruceville and Betty Jean Walters and husband, Darrel, of Chalk Bluff; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Nora Britton, of Brenham; and several nieces and nephews.
