Athens Weekly Review, 8 Apr 1948 (Bk p. 33) Mr. Dingler Dies Here Thurs; Funeral Friday - Funeral services for Milton Monroe Dingler, retired Poynor farmer, who died Thurs. at 6:50 am in a local hospital after a lengthy illness, were held Fri. at 2 pm at the New York Bapt. Ch., with interment in New York Cem. Pallbearers were Joe A. Johnson, Jess Forester, Tom Kitchens, Morris Fears, Lester Meador & Jim Currey. Mr. Dingler was born in Tyler on Nov. 17, 1873, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Sheriff Dingler & moved to LaRue when he was 21 years of age. He resided there until about one year ago, when he moved to Poynor. He was married to Miss Daisy Gauntt 48 years ago at LaRue. Survivors: wife (not named); 5sons: Raymond-LaRue, Jeff-Brownsboro, Freeman-Dallas, Bruce C.-Tyler & Joe Bud Dingler-Athens; dau: Mrs. W. J. Taylor-Poynor; a half bro: Lem Dingler-Tyler; a step bro: Tommy Johnson-Marietta, OK; 2 half sis: Mrs. Homer Rix & Mrs. Ernest Ashley, both of Tyler. 10 grandchildren. One son, Milton Dingler, was killed in action in Italy on April 15, 1945, while in the service of the U. S. Army. Obit provided by Bobbye Varner Name provided by Jaycie Smith.
