Memorial services were held Saturday, Oct. 2, at Calvary Mennonite Church for Lee C. Yoder. Graveside services preceded the memorial service at Zion Mennonite Cemetery. Pastor Vic Walter officiated at the services. Yoder died Monday, Sept. 27 at an Oregon City nursing home three days before his 85th birthday. He was born Sept. 30, 1897 in Shipshewana, Ind. to Levi and Mary Jane Eash Yoder. He and his family moved to Oregon in 1913, settling in the Whiskey Hill area. In 1928 he began working at Larsen"s Creamer in Oregon city where he was a truck driver until his retirement in 1967. Yoder was married to Kathryn Berkey in 1930. they lived in Oregon ?city until 1947 when they moved to Barlow. In 1973 they moved to Canby. His wife, Kathryn, preceded him in death in March 1982. Yoder, until his illness, was active in the Calvary Mennonite Church, of which he was a charter member. He also served on the Barlow City council in the 1950s. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Boyle of West Linn; a son, Rodney of Finley, Wash.; a sister, Wilma Miller of Albany; and five grandchildren, Natalie, Dan and John Yoder of Finley, Wash.; and Wayne and David Boyle of West Linn.
