The correct spelling is Magee. --------------- Rachel married Abner Magee on July 30, 1850, in Pike County, Ohio. -------------- November 2, 2023: The following information was provided by findagrave member Ruth King : Abner and Rachel had six children, with only two who survived to adulthood: -- Jane "Jany" Magee (1852–1852), burial unknown. -- Sarah Ann Magee (1852–1855). -- Melvina Magee (1854–1890). -- Charles Wesley Magee (1858–1939). -- Harriet Magee (1862–1862), burial unknown. -- Abner D Magee (Apr 1863 – before Sep 1863), burial unknown. --------------- From the Ottumwa Courier , February 5, 1909 (Name is also spelled incorrectly in the obituary): Deaths: M'Gee [sic]-Friday, February 5, 1909, at 10:45 a.m. at her home near Sugar Creek, Mrs. Rachel Jane McGee, aged 75 years. She is survived by a son, C.W. McGee of Agency, two sisters, Mrs. E.C. Davis, 513 North Wapello Street and Mrs. Harriet M. Farrington, 535 West Main Street. The funeral will be held Sunday from the Round Point school house, conducted by Rev. O.G. Orcutt of Agency. Interment in Round Point Cemetery.
