The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Thu. Mar 22, 1962 - Page 4 Obituary, Vap-- Joseph Frank Vap passed away March 13, 1962 at his home in Edgar after an extended illness. He was 88 years and 2 days of age. He was born at Moravia Czechoslovakia, March 11, 1874. On April 16, 1901 he was united in marriage to Mary Zlatkovsky. To this union 8 children were born, 4 sons, Albert of Glenvil, Raymond of Bladen, Ted of Salem Ore. and George of Hastings; 3 daughters, Mrs. Christina Alywin of Lincoln, Mrs. Helen McLaughlin of Edgar and Mrs. Doris Trexler of Paulsboro, N. J. One son preceded him in death in infancy. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Mary, his seven children, 31 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren one sister, Mrs. Leta Melchoir of Hastings; many other relatives and a host of friends He was a kind and loving husband and father. They lived on a farm west of Deweese until 1945 when they moved t Edgar and resided here until his death. A year ago, on April 16, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together. Funeral services were held at the First Lady of Assumption Church at Deweese Saturday, March 17, at 9:30. Rev. Father Anthony Trausch officiated at the requiem mass. Pallbearers were Joe Chvala, Louis Skalka, Frank Vap, Frank Svoboda, Rudolph Faimon and Frank Lukasek. Burial under the direction of the McLaughlin Funeral Home of Clay Center, was in the Fairfield Cemetery.
