Nuckolls County Herald (Nelson, NE), Friday, November 19, 1909; pg. 2 Another Bohemian wedding took place Tuesday last in the neighborhood northeast of town. This time Mr. James Melichar and Miss Leda Vap were the principals. A large crowd came to the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Enos Vap after the ceremony at the church and joined in a merry celebration that last until next morning. The groom owns a fine farm where they will reside as soon as possession can be given. - Lawrence Locomotive. ========================== The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Thursday, May 20, 1965; pg. 2 Mrs. Frank Melichar died on Sunday at the Good Samaritan Nursing home at Nelson. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Mary Vap and an aunt of Mrs. Paul McLaughlin. ===================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, May 30, 1965 Funeral services for Mrs. Leda H. Melichar, 77, were held at the Sacred Heart Church in Nelson on Wednesday, May 19. Rev. J.M. O'Conner officiated at the 10 o'clock services and interment was in the St. Martin Cemetery west of Deweese. Mrs. Melichar, who died Sunday, was a native of Clay County. She lived for a time in Fairfield and in Hastings before moving to Nelson in 1963. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Chvale of Deweese; a grandson, Joe Melichar of Nelson and four great grandchildren. The Klawitter Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
