Gerald Spale, age 69 of Nebraska City passed away Saturday morning; May 22, 2010 at his home in Nebraska City. Gerald was born on July 5, 1940 at Schuyler, NE; the son of Joseph E. and Bridgett M. (Tachman) Spale. He attended school in Schuyler and graduated from the Schuyler High School with the class of 1957. He was united in marriage to Donna Johnson in Tecumseh, NE. Jerry was a painter for some 45 years. He took great pride in his work. He is survived by his children: ; Ronita Mendoza and husband Dan of Omaha, NE; Jerry Lee Spale of Lincoln, NE; Wanda Spale of El Paso, TX and Tammy Lynn Leslie and husband Jack of Beatrice, NE; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; special friend Edith Simmerman of Nebr. City; siblings: Donald Spale of Columbus, NE; Judy Svoboda of Omaha, NE; Pat Svoboda of Denison, IA, Joe Spale, Tom Spale and Terry Spale all of Schuyler, NE; Fred Spale of Fremont, NE and Duane Spale of Grand Island, NE; numerous nieces and nephews, other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna in 2004and a brother Kenny Spale. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Fr. Michael McCabe of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Memorials may be given to the family. Condolences may be left at www.gudefuneralhomes.com.
