Husband of Jessie Pearl Anderton Hillhouse - married November 12, 1938. Father of Earl Edward Hillhouse, Kathy Deborah Hillhouse Walls and Mary Nell Hillhouse Carpenter. Graveside services for Carl Edward Hillhouse, 82, of Lamesa will be at 4 p.m. today in "Lamesa Memorial Park" with the Rev. Charles Greenwall officiating. Burial is under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. He died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at VA Medical Center. He was born Oct. 17, 1917, in Promise Ridge, Ark. He married Jessie Anderson on Nov. 2, 1938, in Athens. She died Oct. 5, 1996. He was a veteran of World War II and a groundskeeper at Lamesa Memorial Park. Survivors include a son, Earl of Lamesa; two daughters, Mary Carpenter of Lamesa and Kathy Walls of Farmington, N.M.; a sister, Inez Outcalt of Athens; a brother, Isaiah of Pompano Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
