Chester was born to Samuel J and Jessie May (Heckathorn) Henion on Nov, 11, 1921 in Springview, NE. He grew up and attended school in Ansley, NE. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the South Pacific. On June 2, 1946, he married Catherine Hughes in Sargent. They lived in Broken Bow where he worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads. In 1952 they moved to Shelton where he operated a service station for many years. He had been foreman of the carpenter shop at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island and had also worked at the New Holland farm equipment plant in Grand Island before retiring in 1974. He was a member of the American Legion of Shelton and the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a 30 year member. World War II US Army Private
