DOROTHY LENORE PETERSON Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalms 116:15 Dorothy L. Peterson, 86, of Duluth, formally of Iron River, Wis., went to meet our Lord and Savior and her loving husband at God's table on Thanksgiving. Dorothy was born June 24, 1927, in Sargent, Neb., to Samuel and Jesse Henion. After graduating high school in Nebraska, Dorothy earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary school education from North Central Bible Institute plus many other credits from UMD to be certified to teach special education in elementary and high school. She taught for 17 years in Cotton. Dorothy and her husband, Clifford, blessed many people with their singing and music ministry in the Twin Ports area. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Clifford; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Dorothy is survived by her children, James L. (Annette) Peterson of Duluth, Diane (Ed) Pierce of Duluth, Debra (James) Hastings of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Joseph L. Peterson of Minneapolis; grandchildren Ember, Genna, Keeli, Justin, Ethan, Leah, Elijah, Chelsea and Sydney; great-grandchildren Jayliana, Chase, Talon and Zoey; and many other loved relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Heaven and Essentia Hospice for their tender loving care of Dorothy. A GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1505 Eklund Ave. Entombment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park in Hermantown.
