Bio

Information from Alexander's great-grandson, Jack Hewatt: Alexander Hewatt was captured at Vicksburg, July 4, 1863, and paroled, July 6, 1863. He was sick, in a Dalton, Georgia hospital on October 31, 1863. Pension records show that he was home on sick furlough, at the close of the war.
