Robert Odell Osburn Services Tuesday p.m. Funeral services for Robert Odell Osburn, 45, were conducted Tuesday, April 21, 1970, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Clarendon, Texas, with Rev. Bryan Knowles, minister of the Martin Baptist Church officiating. Rev. Harold Elliott assisted. Interment was in Citizens Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home. Mr. Osburn died from injuries he received in the tornado that struck his home in the Martin community April 18, 1970. He was born in Red River County, Tex. and moved to Clarendon in 1945. He married Edna Jewell Tims in Clarendon in 1948 and maintained his home in the Martin community where he farmed. He was in the Armed Forces during World War Two. He is survived by his wife, Edna Jewell Osburn and two daughters, Miss Judy Osburn of the home and Mrs. Brenda McConnell of Perryton, Texas; Also, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.B. Osburn of Esteline [sic], Texas; Six sisters, Mrs. Lena Freeze of Esteline [sic], Texas, Mrs. Osie Lee Walker of Springlake, Texas, Mrs. Mina Nelson of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Veda McKay of Bovina, Texas, Mrs. Mary Ida Bryson of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Rosa Nell Smith of Hart, Texas; Two brothers, Clifford Osburn of Amarillo, Texas and B.B. Osburn, Jr. of Clarendon, texas. Bearers were Don Robinson, Dale Robinson, Steve Reynolds, Fred Clifford, Emmett Simmons and Bill Todd.
