Bio

William was the husband of Mary Jane Winder and the son of Jonathan A. & Elizabeth Caroline (Nall) Phillips. ----- Services for W.W. Phillips were held in the Methodist Church by Rev. Jackson, assisted by Rev. McCauley, his pastor, and Rev. Gordon of Meridian. The remains were laid to rest in the Riverside cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him in death. Mr. Phillips came to Bosque County in 1871 in early childhood, and joined the Iredell Methodist Church in 1881. He lived a straight Christian life all of these years. He married Miss Jennie Winder in 1871. To this union seven children were born. Surviving are his children - Forest Phillips, Mrs. Laura E. Jones, Lee F. Phillips, Mrs. Mayme Young, Mrs. Manzie Burson, W.R. Phillips, Mrs. Edna Cook; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers - R.N. and J.C. Phillips; one sister - Mrs. Mary Phillips.
