Mrs. Anna Belle Ellis nee McCashland died at the family residence in York county, Nebraska, July 14, 1908. The deceased had been in poor health for a number of years. Her many sicknesses culminated finally in the one that took her from our midst on last Tuesday. A few days before her death, she gave birth to a child, which preceded her to the Better Land. Mrs. Ellis was born in Fillmore county, Neb., September 11, 1879, and was twenty-eight years, eleven months and three days old. May 28, 1902, she was married to John C. Ellis. He, with a little girl five years of age, survive the wife and mother. She leaves also a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John McCashland; one brother, Charles E. McCashland; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Perkins and Mrs. Eva Walworth. In 1894 she united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Fairmont. She lived consistently, and when she knew that she was dying, she was sustained by the faith and hope inspired by the Gospel. The body was interred in the Fairmont cemetery on Wednesday, July 15, and the funeral services were held at the M.E. church Thursday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. John Gallagher officiating. The community sympathizes deeply with those who are bereaved. Fillmore Chronicle July 17th, 1908 page 8. --------------------------- Daughter of John R. and Amanda (Cox) McCashland. Married John C.
