Rev. Rudolph Hoffmann performed the last sad rites at the family residence Sunday morning, June 4 and Requiem High Mass was celebrated at the Catholic Church, Rt. Rev. Monsignor Netardus delivered a very consoling sermon, then the remains of Hynek Zissa were laid to rest in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Hynek Zissa was born in Sublime on August 15, 1865 and had reached the age of 78 years, nine months and 17 days. Survivors include his wife and the following children, August, John, Jim and Julius of Shiner, Louis of Westhoff and Emil, who is in the service overseas; Mrs. Vaclav (Annie) Jiral of Floresville, Mrs. Frank (Albina) Janecek of Austin, Mrs. John (Julia) Krajca of Ennis, Mrs. John (Emma) Horak of Dallas, Mrs. Ludwig (Agnes) Kaspar of Clovis, California, 32 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Lavaca County Tribune, Fri., 9 Jun 1944 Sublime is at the intersection of Farm roads 142, 146, and 125 and U.S. Highway 90-A, eight miles east of Hallettsville in eastern Lavaca County.
