Bio

Harold E. Tidd, 89, of 22 Adams St., died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, at his residence. Born Oct. 18, 1912, in Franklin, he was a son of Raymond I. and Maude Ramsey Tidd. Mr. Tidd graduated from Franklin High School in 1929. He also attended International Correspondence School. Mr. Tidd retired from CPT in 1977 after 37 years as an engineer and designer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklin, where he was a former Sunday School superintendent, member of the Board of Deacons and member of the family committee and board of missions. Mr. Tidd enjoyed golf and woodworking. He was married Oct. 18, 1939, to Pauline Rachel Reichart, who preceded him in death Feb. 4, 2000. Surviving are two children, Thomas N. Tidd and his wife, Carol, of Franklin, and Susan Lowrey and her husband, Jerry, of Fort Worth, Texas; one grandson, Brian P. Lowrey of Fort Worth; and one great-grandchild, Shelby Lowrey of Fort Worth. He is also survived by two brothers, Lawrence E. Tidd of Davenport, Fla., and Samuel H. Tidd of Franklin. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Tidd was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Burns; and two brothers, Richard A. Tidd and Lyle Tidd. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Peter Conlin, interim pastor, presiding. The family suggests memorials be made to the VNA Care Home or Hospice.
