Ernest Earl Spaulding Funeral services for Ernest Earl Spaulding, age 81 years, of Oak Grove, Louisiana, were held Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove with Reverend Mike Ray officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove under the direction of Cox Funeral Homes of 200 East Noble Street, Oak Grove. Ernest Earl Spaulding died Sunday, January 31, 1999 at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. Mr. Spaulding was a longtime resident of West Carroll Parish. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 24 years, and after 14 years from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture as an Entomologist. He was a member and deacon of the Lanes Ferry Baptist Church. He was a member of the Oak Grove Lodge #284 F.& A.M., where he was a two term Past Master and was Past Master of Pioneer Lodge #340. He was two term Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 7th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of the State of Louisiana. He was a three time Past Patron of the Oak grove Chapter. of the Eastern Star. He was a 32 degree mason of the Scottish Rite Body and a member of the Barak Shine Temple in Monroe. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josephine Janes Spaulding, of Oak Grove; son, Robert Spaulding, and daughter-in-law, Anna Reeks Spaulding, of Burleson, TX; a sister, Clora Francile Corbin, of New Caney, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Pat Hill, Jerry Crnkovic, Roland Crymes, Wendell Allred, Jackie Gunter, Ernie Gunter, and Rowdy Sanderson. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Adult Mens Sunday School Class of Lanes Ferry Baptist Church and Jack Gunter. Thanks to Frank Janes for obit.
