Harlin L. Stewart Air Force Veteran And Cattle Buyer Harlin Lynn Stewart, 71, died Feb. 20, 2000, at Smith County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. He was born Aug. 19, 1928, in north Lincoln County to Glen and Irene (Nible) Stewart. He attended Paris school in Lincoln County. Harlin was an Air Force veteran, serving four years. During that time he met his wife, Sheila Stothard, in England. They were married Oct. 15, 1955, in Lincoln, Kan. After returning from the service, he engaged in farming and ranching, then became a cattle order buyer until his retirement. After retiring, Harlin enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dale; and an infant child. Survivors are his wife, Sheila Stewart; five sons; one daughter; 12 grandchildren; four brothers. The funeral was Feb. 25th at Simmons Mortuary Chapel, Smith Center, with Rev. John Nelson officiating. Burial was at Round Springs Cemetery, Hunter, Kansas.
