Bio
Harold F. Stewart, age 87, of McCool Jct., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 in Lincoln. He was born Aug. 21, 1926 in rural Lincoln County, Kan. to Glen and Irene (Nible) Stewart. He was a veteran, having served in the US Army during the Korean War. Harold was united in marriage to Ellen M. Bors on Aug. 20, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in York. For 39 years, Harold was employed by Borton Incorporated, a company which built and maintained grain elevators. Following retirement he enjoyed his time on the farm and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; son, Michael Joseph Stewart (Amy Adams); daughter, Anne (Mark) Baird; grandchildren, Kimberly Baird and Justin Baird; great-grandchild, Jaden Baird. Harold is also survived by three brothers, Wayne (Jo) Stewart; Donald Stewart; and Thayne (Edith) Stewart; nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Harlin and Dale and sister-in-law Rita Stewart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCool Jct. with interment with full military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery in York. A Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m., Friday evening at Metz Mortuary. York News Times 19 Sept. 2013
