Bio
Nanie Evelyn was the 6th of 9 children born to Oran Milo Roberts, Jr., and Erin Annie Scripture Roberts. From her marriage to Leander Fletcher Walker she was blessed with a daughter, Mary Evelyn Walker Stark. She married and divorced Leander Fletcher Walker, Sr., Gerald Douglas Gerrish (3 times) and Elba W. Hudson. She left Elba for Austin cop, Joe Lightsey, her one true love, but he left her for Gladys Lucille Greer Russell. Nanie was a seamstress and a songstress, singing in the church choir. When her daughter, Mary Evelyn Walker Stark died she was devastated, but when her granddaughter, Erin Jane Stark Wilson died, she collapsed and went to pieces. Once, she said she wanted to die before the age of 40 so she could "lay a pretty corpse."
