Bio

Alice R. Vojtech, 100, of Omaha, formerly of North Bend, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. She was born June 8, 1909, in rural Prague to Joseph and Emily (Ostry) Jambor. She was a graduate of North Bend High School and attended Fremont Normal School. She taught several years in the Saunders County rural schools prior to her marriage. She married James V. Vojtech on Feb. 11, 1929, at Plasi. The couple farmed northeast of North Bend from 1929 to 1952 and then moved into North Bend. She cleaned the North Bend Post Office and sewed curtains for Safeway Mobile Home Plant at North Bend. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1986. She moved to Omaha in 1992. She was a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society at North Bend. Survivors include: two sons, David Vojtech of Ralston and Leon Vojtech of Athens, Tenn.; two daughters, Janice (and husband, John) Hobza of Omaha and Carol (and husband, Ron) Kratky of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Ernie (and wife, Jeanette) Jambor of Lincoln; a sister, Lorene (and husband, Louis) Woita of David City; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, two daughters-in-law and a great-granddaughter.
