Louella J Moore and William Jasper Neeley married on 19 Mar 1902 - Fannin, Texas, USA *************************************************** Wellington Leader December 6, 1973 Mrs. W.J. Neeley, one of the county's older residents, died in Collingsworth General Hospital Wednesday, November 28, at the age of 92. She lived at Thomas Nursing Home. With other members of her family, Mrs. Neeley came to Collingsworth County in 1923 from Honey Grove, arriving on Thanksgiving Day. A few years later they moved to the Quail area and farmed there until he retired. They moved into Wellington in May 1960. She was a former Louella Moore, daughter of George and Sarah Knox Moore, and was born in Boonesville, Arkansas, April 20, 1881. She grew up there, and at the age of 21 came to Honey Grove. She and Mr. Neeley were married there March 9, 1902. They continued to farm there until the family came to Collingsworth County. Mrs. Neeley had been a member of the Primitive Baptist Church since early in life, and she worked devotedly in the church in Wellington. One hundred and two descendants survive: three sons, Z.J. Neeley of Quail, Omer Neeley of Hale Center and Lonnie Neeley of Wellington; five daughters, Mrs. A.D. Wood of Glenrose, Mrs. Willis Wood of Muleshoe, Mrs. J.C. Norman of Wellington; Mrs. Earl Albright of Dumas, and Mrs. R.E. Bradley; 29 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, N.J. Moore of Weslaco. Mr. Neeley died January 13, 1962.
