Mahalia was born in Washington County, VA, to Bennett Rector and Nancy Conley. Shadrick Gallion married Mahalia Rector 8 Nov 1822 in Surry County, NC, spelled Shadrek Gallion and Mahaly Rector, Bondsman Young Gallion with Shadrick. Young Gallion was Shadrick's uncle. Mahalia died after the birth of her thirteenth child Mary Galyean on Sept 4, 1844.
