Ord Quiz, 1948 Funeral services for Peter Larson were held at the Methodist church in Arcadia on Tuesday, afternoon, Jan. 20, 1948 with the Rev. Mrs. Nelson officiating. Kermit Erickson sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Going Down the Valley”, accompanied by Mrs. Kermit Erickson on the piano. Pall-bearers were his four sons, Will, Victor, Carl and Alvin. He was laid to rest in the Balsora cemetery. Peter Axel Larson, son of Gretta Louise and John Larson, was born in Smoland, Sweden on August 14, 1865 and departed this life on Saturday, January 17, 1948 at Minden, Nebr. At the age of 82 years, 5 months and 2 days. Mr. Larson came to the United States with his parents in 1873 and lived at Moline, Ill. For six years moving to Loup City in 1879. On March 19, 1893 he was united in marriage to Laura Anderson. They moved to a farm in the Northwest part of Sherman county, where he resided until 1910, when he retired, moving to Arcadia. He also spent two years with his daughter in Los Angeles. Survivors are two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Mable Wright of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Mary Anstine of Bay City, Ore., Will Larson of Fort Worth, Texas, Victor, Carl and Alvin all of Nampa, Ida; 13 grand-children, and eight great grandchildren.
