Rockton Herald, Thursday, October 18, 1945 The second accident, which resulted in the death of Raymond Hinkle, occurred about 1:30 Sunday morning near the center of the Rockton bridge where the autos driven by Hinkle and Margaret Calland, Beloit, collided. The Beloit ambulance took both drivers to the Beloit hospital. Hinkle was given treatment but died at 3:30. Death was reportedly due to internal injuries. Miss Calland received treatment for an injured knee. Raymond L. Hinkle was born on Dec. 28, 1928 at Rockford, and after moving to Rockton with his parents, attended Rockton grade school and Hononegah high school. He had been working for his father at the Hinkle Grain Elevator in Beloit. HE was a member of the Old Stone church. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Hinkle, three sisters, Lillian, Blanche, and Ardis, all at home, and his grandmother, Mrs. Elias Nelson, Barron, Wis. A sister, Joy, died in 1938. Funeral services were held at the Old Stone church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Claude Warren officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Rockton Cemetery.
