David Charles Becht U.S. Veteran RAPID CITY—David Charles Becht, 76, died at his Rapid City home on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Rita Becht, Rapid City; 7 daughters, Katherine Hadd, Deb Hagen, Rita Kaufman, Nancy Northcutt and Linda Schoenfelder, all of Rapid City and Barbara Brown and Judy Froese, both of Colorado; a son, Michael Becht, Rapid City; 20 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Becht, Spearfish and two sisters, Marilyn Schoenrock, Minnesota and Lois Harkenrider, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2 until 3 p.m. , with a Christian wake service at 3:00 pm at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 12, at the Cathedral with Rev. Michel Mulloy officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota Army National Guard, will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help or Hospice of the Hills. Arrangements are entrusted to Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home
