Bio
James A. Becht Mass of Christian burial for James A. Becht, 21, Rapid City, will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with the Rev. James Becht officiating. Rosary services will be Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City. A memorial has been established. Becht died Saturday in a Rapid City nursing home of injuries received in an auto accident near Jackson, Minn March 30. He was born Nov. 1, 1963, in Rapid City, to David C. and Rita Becht. He grew up here, attended Rapid City schools and graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1983. He worked at the Canyon Lake Dairy Queen here and was a member of the South Dakota National Guard Reserve. He had moved to Jackson in October 1985. Survivors include his parents, David and Rita Becht of Rapid City(both deceased); one brother; seven sisters; and his paternal grandmother.
