Bio

Martha "Patsy" Cassells Corbitt was the 2nd wife of William Clayton Corbitt. She is the mother of at least 9 of his 23 children: Sarah E. Susanah, James William, Mary, Seaborn C. "Sebe", Elbert (+Twin), Thomas Jefferson, Emmiline "Emma". She is buried in the Hester Farm Cemetery, located just off the Perryville Road. The Old Hester Cemetery has been abandoned for over 100 years and is not listed as an option on findagrave.com. My father, T.J. Corbitt and his cousin, J.D. Corbitt, saw the grave in the 1970's and said that it was marked by a pile of rocks with only initials and dates painted on them. In April 1994 I visited the grave site. It is located inside a wire fence and so well protected by heavy shrubs and briars that I could not get close to it. But I saw the grave, it is next her daughter's grave, Sarah Elizabeth Richardson.
