Bio
Hubert, son of Peter Joseph Jaax and Anna Maria Mueller was born in, or near, the village of Tondorf, Rheinland, Prussia. He died in rural Polk County, Nebraska on his farm at the age of 53. As found in the book "Franciscans of Nebraska": "St. Andrew's Church, Polk County, Nebraska...Mr. Hubert Jaax, a native of the Eifel (in Rheinish Prussia) district, immigrated in 1868 to Iowa and in fall, 1872, the family, with four children, John, Peter, Margaret (Mrs. Jacob Ripp in Cedar Rapids), and Anna (Mrs. Frank Janicek), came to Polk county, Nebraska."
