Bio
Funeral services for George Archie Mayfield were conducted Thursday, August 10 at 2 p.m. in the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Reverend D. G. Council of Kaufman Assembly of God officiating. Burial was in Ola Cemetery. Mr. Mayfield was born January 4, 1908 and died August 8. He was a resident of the South Buie Community. He was preceded in death by one brother, Troy Mayfield. Survivors include: his wife, Katherine; one daughter, Mrs. Olen Dean, Kaufman; two sons, George A. Mayfield Jr., Rogene Mayfield, both of Kaufman; sisters, Myrtle Wilson of Seven Points, Marie Taylor, Essie Bardin and Mrs. Woodrow Lightfoot of Kaufman; brothers Leroy Mayfield, Clifton Mayfield and James Mayfield all of Kaufman; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
