George E. Muller, 1890-1964 Funeral services were held at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage Wednesday, for a former area resident, George E. Muller, 73, who died Sunday in Austin, Texas, where the family had lived for several years. The Rev. Gerald Petsch, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church in Cedar Township, was in charge of the services, and burial was at Immanuel Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar. George Emil Muller was born in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, November 17, 1890, the son of Gustav and Maria Struben Muller. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church. His marriage to Margaret Morgan took place January 20, 1923. Most of their married life was spent in farming in Worth and Mitchell counties. The family moved to Austin, Texas in 1958. Survivors include his wife Margaret, their children: Dorothy (Mrs. Melvin Olson), Dale E. Muller of Austin, Texas, Emil of Liberty, Missouri, Verna (Mrs. Darrell Barnes of San Antonio, Texas, nine grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Schuttler and Mrs. Arnold Bartch of Osage. He was preceded in death by one infant grandson; four brothers, John, Ferd, Walter, and Herb, and one sister, Mrs. H.D. Ahrens. His lists his birth place as Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. On his social security death record it lists it as November 17, 1890 and that it was issued in Minnesota, with a last residence of Texas.
