Name; Marie Magdalena Sebetka Vavrina Birth Location; Orlov, Okres Ústí nad Orlicí, Pardubický (Pardubice), Czech Republic Suggested By: J N born per obit: Hermanice, Rychnov, Bohemia, Austria (Czechoslovakia) died from Cerebral Hemorage Different spellings of maiden name: Harapat, Harapot, Haropak, Haruput, Mrs. Marie Sebetka Dies of Stroke at Son’s Home Ill only five hours following a cerebral hemorrhage, Mrs. Marie Sebetka, 78, died about 10:30 o’clock last Friday evening at the home of her son, Lester, two miles southeast of Clutier. Mrs. Sebetka, who was also the mother of Mrs. F. J. Stodola, of Clutier, came to America from Europe with Lester eighteen years ago and had always lived with him since that time. She moved to this community from Cedar Rapids about seven years ago with her son. The funeral service was held Monday morning at the Immaculate Conception church in Clutier with the Rev. Father Thomas Vopatek officiating. Burial was in St. Vaclav cemetery, west of town. Casket bearers, all grandsons of the decedent, were Wesley and Edward Sebetka; Charles Seda, of Cedar Rapids; Stanley Stodola, of San Antonio, Tex.; John Flidr, of Cedar Rapids; and Frank Sebetka. The decedent was born in Hermanice, Czecho-Slovakia, and spent most of her life in that country. Her husband, Joseph Sebetka Sr., died in 1912. She is survived by two sons and six daughters - Lester Sebetka, of Clutier; Joseph Sebetka, of Protovin, Ia., formerly of Clutier and Toledo; Mrs. Charles Seda, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Frank Stodola, of Clutier; Mrs. Joe Melichar, of Shell Rock, Ia.; and Mrs. Joseph Kaspar and Mrs. Frank Zavodni, both of Czecho-Slovakia. Four children preceded her in death, these being Wesley Sebetka, of Traer, who died in 1933; Mrs. John Flidr, who died at Cedar Rapids in 1929; Mrs. Marie Sedlacek, who died in 1921; and Rose, who died in Europe in childhood. Thirty-five grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren are living. Relatives here from a distance to attend the funeral service Monday included Mr. and Mrs. Joe Melichar of Shell Rock; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Tezner, of Hudson; Mr. and Mrs. John Vanous and daughters and the Charles Seda family, of Cedar Rapids; Joe Sebetka and family, of Jesup; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Sebetka, of Tama; Joe Sebetka and daughter, Marie, of Protovin; and Mrs. Mary Cejka and the Milo Sebetka family, of Cedar Rapids.
