His obituary reads: Little Warren Edward Petet, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Petet, was born May 30th 1914, and departed this life December 4th 1914, aged 6 months and 14 days. This little sufferer was brought to the home of his aunt. Mrs. Jim Adams, that she might nurse and care for him, hoping to soon making him well. On Friday he took sick with Erysipelas and on Sunday pneumonia set in; but with Dr. Fenster Macher aid he soon recovered from pneumonia, and it was thought by all that he was mending fast, until Tuesday he worsened Coney, a nurse from Sargent called, and she and Mrs. Adams nursed him day and night, but parytonites of the bowels set in; and death claimed the little flower Friday morning at ten minutes after two. Every known medical aid was used to relive the little one, but Christ needed one more precious jewel for the crown. Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock the funeral services were held in the Congressional Church conducted by Rev. Pickett, Pastor Kind and sympathizing friends had carefully decorated the Church with many flowers. At the close of the services a good numbers of friends followed the remains to the cemetery, where they were laid to rest. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all our people in mourning this heavy loss. Funeral services were held at the Congressional Church and burial was at the Douglas Grove Cemetery in Comstock, Nebraska.
