Bio
Death of Myron M. Mudgett Myron Morris Mudgett passed away at the county home, Friday Dec. 8th 1911, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was the oldest son of John J. and Harried M. Mudgett, and was born in Cattarangus County, New York on April 1, 1834. Several years later his parents moved to Jefferson County, Iowa and when he was ten years of age they moved to Jasper County; where he has resided ever since. In 1857, he was married to Miss Eliza Stines and to this union were born eleven children, nine of them survive the father. He is also survived by one brother, Woodbury, and one sister, Mrs. Frances Latham. Twenty-two years ago he united with the Christian church at Galesburg. For the last eleven years he has been afflicted by blindness and has been in failing health during all that time. The funeral services were held in Mt. Zion M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. J. A. Monkman, Sunday Dec. 10, at 2:30 p.m. and interment was made in the beautiful cemetery just north of the church. ~ Newspaper name and dates unknown
