MARLIN PJ MINTER was born on 3 July 1909 in Pine forest, Hopkins County, Texas to Dr. Guy Z. Minter and Margie M. Penn-Minter. Marlin married Frances Walkup on 2 June 1949. Marlin passed away on 4 April 1995 in Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, and was buried at Quanah Memorial Park, Hardeman County, Texas. OBITUARY: Hopkins County Echo, (Sulphur Springs, TX), 07 April 1995: Services for Marlin P.J. Minter, 85, of Lubbock at Rick's Funeral Home in Lubbock. He married Frances Walkup in 1949. She preceded him in death. Mr. Minter graduated from Texas Tech in 1936 with an electrical engineering degree. He worked for G.E. for 11 years before returning to Tech where he taught electrical engineering for four years. He and his wife owned and operated a small appliance repair shop in Lubbock for 25 years. He was a 20-year Lubbock Rotarian and on the board of directors of the American Red Cross and the Better Business Bureau. He was a Texas Registered Professional Engineer and a life member of IEEE. He made several endowed scholarships to Texas Tech. Survivors include one nephew; one niece; several Hopkins County relatives. Obituary courtesy of Searchers of our Past
