A rosary was recited at 8:15 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rose Parma and Kathy Podsednik. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at West Brethren Church with Rev. Lawrence Junek officiating. Burial followed in West Brethren Cemetery. Mrs. Marek was born July 28, 1901 in Fayetteville, Texas, the daughter of Anton and Anna Dvorak. She married Frank F. Marek in West, February 1, 1921. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1973. She was a housewife and a farmer. Mrs. Marek was a member of SPJST Lodge 54 in West, and a member of the West Brethren Church. She is survived by three sons, Edmund F. Marek of Penelope, Frankie G. Marek of Rt. 2 West, and Edwin Joe Marek of Northcrest; five daughters, Aline Kaluza of Rt. 2, West, Leona Kral of West, Helen Smith of Northcrest, Mary Ann Hutyra of West, and Shirley Willenborg of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; thirty-seven grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Freddie Kaluza, Billy Wayne Kral, Larry Podsednik, Rodney Cepak, Johnny Ray Hutyra, Larry Marek, Scott Willenborg, and Tommy Kaluza.
