Publication date unknown. [hand date of 27 Dec 1965] - Helen Northcutt Dies on Monday; Rites Wednesday -- Mrs. Gerald (Helen) Northcutt, 52, of 803 S. Seventh Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1930, died at 11:15 am Monday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at the Morgan-Loehr Funeral Home. The Rev. Arthur V. Long, minister of the First Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. ... Survivors are her husband; a son Larry Northcutt; three grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Armstrong of Monroe, Mrs. Earl (Opal) Carter of Fremont,Mrs. Lee (Carman) Phillipe of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Orville (Wilma) Kaldenberg of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Mrs. Northcutt was a member of the First Methodist Church. She was a clerk in the city clerk's office for 12 years. The daughter of Edmund and Iva O'Connor Wood, she was born Sept. 19, 1913 at Reasnor, Iowa. She attended Jasper County schools and was a 1930 graduate of Newton High School, Newton, Iowa.
