F. Svacek, Leading Citizen, Dies Sunday Joseph F. Svacek of West died Sunday at his home. He was 70. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in West. Rev. A. Evans officiated with burial in United Brethren Cemetery in West. Masonic Lodge in West conducted graveside services. Mr. Svacek was born in West and resided here all his life. He was a salesman of Dietz Memorial Co. in Waco and a salesman for Omaha Mutual Insurance Co. He worked as a substitute mail carrier for the West Post Office. He also was a tax assessor in West. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church and a Mason. He was very active in the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club and other civic organizations in and around West. Survivors include his wife of West; one son, Joseph Svacek of Seminole; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Conway of Austin; two brothers, Victor Svacek and Albin Svacek, both of West; one sister, Annie Pinter of West; four grandchildren.
