Marriage J. D. Nelson of this place and Miss Minnie J. Wagelie of Newman Grove were married at the court house in Fremont by County Judge Stinson on Saturday afternoon, March 4th 1911. Mr. Nelson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Nelson and has spent his life here where he has a host of friends and well wishers. He is engineer at F. W. King's mill. They will live in A. H. Harms cottage recently vacated by Mrs. Nelson. Late Saturday afternoon, Judge Stinson tied the connubial knot for J. D. Nelson, age 24, of Hooper and Minnie J. Wagelie age 21, of Newman Grove. Obit James Nelson Succumbs to Injuries (Sept 5, 1931) James D. Nelson, son of Mr. & Mrs. J.E. Nelson, who recently was critically hurt in an auto-motorcycle accident died of his injuries in a Norfolk Hospital. His accident occurred near Pilger on Aug. 24. James Delbert Nelson was a native of Hooper; he was born on May 12, 1884, and died Sept 5, 1931, at the age of 47 yrs, 3 months and 23 days. He grew to manhood in the community and though he had been gone from here for a number of years he was well known and respected by all. For the past six yrs he has lived in the state of Washington, working for the Midwest Electric Co. He had returned to Hooper about 2 wks ago for a visit, when he met with the accident that caused his death. His death was the second to occur in the Nelson family within the short period of two months, a sister, Mrs. Rosa (H.C.) Koplin, having passed away on July 16. Besides his aged parents, Mr. & Mrs. J.E. Nelson, he is survived by three sisters and four brother; Mrs. Susie May, Mrs. Bertha Reinhold, Mrs. Essie Sampson; Frank & Ray Nelson of Hooper, Stacy Nelson of Neligh, and George of Washington state. Funeral services were on Tuesday afternoon and he was buried in Hooper Cemetery.
