Bio

Bernice Strokos Fowler 79, of Dickinson, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2010. Bernice was born on November 12, 1930 in Crosby, Texas to Frank and Theresa (Schmadle) Strokos and has lived in the Houston area all of her life. When Bernice wasn't busy working and taking care of her family she enjoyed traveling, camping, family reunions and most of spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bernice was a very strong, loving and caring woman who will be missed by all who knew her. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Theresa ( Schmadle) Strokos; brother, Robert Strokos; brother, Ronnie Strokos; brother, Frankie Strokos; brother, Charlie Strokos; granddaughter, Melissa Faye Farek and granddaughter, Stacey Lynn Graves. She is survived by her loving husband, Emerson Fowler; son, Lawrence Graves Jr. and wife Jennifer; son Lloyd Wayne Graves Sr. and wife Linda; daughter, Patsy Hill; son David Graves Sr.; son Willie Graves and wife Tootie; daughter, Mary Dees and husband Samuel; daughter, Sharon Whitmire and husband John; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 5-8pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 2pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home with burial following at Sterling-White Cemetery.
