Fred Martin PARMA — Fred Martin, 93, of Parma, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 1985, in a Caldwell nursing home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the Parma Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Milo E. Wittkopf of the Parma Church of the Nazarene and Rev. James McMillan of the Caldwell Free Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Parma Cemetery, under direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Mr. Martin, a farmer, was born Aug. 9, 1891, in Phillips County, Kan., a son of Freeman D. and Amanda A. Beechley Martin. He was reared and educated in Phillips County. He married Ila E. Parker on April 30, 1913, at Thedford, Neb., and they homesteaded a farm in Nebraska. They lived and farmed in Nebraska and Kansas until moving to Idaho in 1937. He had resided in the Parma area since that time where he farmed and did farm labor. Mrs. Martin died in 1953. He was a member of the Parma Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include three sons, Tommy Martin, Ivan Martin and Paul Gene Martin, all of Parma; seven daughters, Hannah (Mrs. Joe) Allen and Opal Patchin, both of Nampa, Della Benedict of Marsing, Freda Thompson of Project City, Calif., Lois (Mrs. Donald) Cone of Parma, Naomi (Mrs. Earl) Campbell of Adrian, Ore., Kathleen (Mrs. Mark) Anderson of Fort Frazier, British Columbia; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, his parents and three brothers died earlier. Memorials may be made to the Parma Church of the Nazarene, c/o Dakan Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1386, Caldwell 83606.
