Published in The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, AL, Thursday, July 30, 1998. Mrs. Leona Chapman, 81, Athens, died Monday at her home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home. Burial was in Sandlin Cemetery. Mrs. Chapman was a native of Limestone County, a member of Carey Baptist Church and a seamstress. She was preceded in death by one son, William Earl Chapman. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Chapman; two sons, Wilburn Chapman of Elkhart, IN, and Herbert Chapman of Athens; one brother, Roy Robertson of Covington, KY; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Married (1) Clifford Winston Chapman. They divorced August 1958, Limestone Co, AL. Children: Wilburn Elmo Chapman Herbert Eugene Chapman William Earl Chapman Married (2) Jerry Chapman
