Bio

Wilburn E. Chapman, 90, passed away June 30, 2024, at his home in Elkhart surrounded by family. He was born October 22, 1933, in Anderson, Alabama to Clifford & Leona (Robertson) Chapman. On November 1, 1952, he married Alma Cook; she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Jerry Chapman, 4 children, Danny Chapman, Roy Chapman, Shirley Chapman, Larry Chapman, and a brother, Earl Chapman. Surviving is a son, Gary (Christina) Chapman, 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a brother, Eugene "Gene" (Donna) Chapman, and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Chapman. Wilburn worked for 35 years at Beck Welding, over 41 years at Fairmont Mobile Homes and was a member of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church. He was a hardworking man that was devoted to God, church and his family. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery and presiding will be Pastor Ray Laborde from McCoy Memorial Baptist Church and his brother Gene Chapman.
