EARL V. GARRETT, age 88, passed away on Feb. 4, 2010. He was born on May 18, 1921, in DeWitt County to Jack and Mattie Vick Garrett. He was a retired construction worker, served in the U.S. Army, and was a Baptist. Survived by Tammy Riley, caregiver, sisters, Margaret Malina of Victoria, Mannie Mae Haney of Corpus Christie; and brothers, Jake and Sylvan Garrett of Yoakum. Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Katherine Garrett; brothers. J.D., Charles, James Ed, and A.G. Garrett; and sisters, Mary Inez Nobles, Bessie Lee Hart, and Martha Rose Bradenburg. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Means officiating. Burial will be at County Line Cemetery.
