VICTORIA - Margaret Lucille (Garrett) Malina, 90, of Victoria, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. She was born May 4, 1924 in Fordtran, TX to the late Jack and Mattie Vick Garrett. Mrs. Malina was a graduate of Yoakum High School and retired from Sears after many years. She was active in the community where she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, being a Life Member and Past Officer; volunteer at Citizens Medical Center and member and active worker at Christ the Victor Lutheran Church. Margaret married Leonard Milam Malina, Sr. on March 11, 1944 at the Czech Moravian Church in Shiner, TX and they enjoyed 55 years together before his passing in 1999. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Malina was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, J. D., James Ed, Earl, Sylvan, A.G. and sisters, Inez Nobles, Bessie Lee Hart and Martha Brandenburg. Visitation will be held at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at Christ the Victor Lutheran Church with Rev. Cheryl Kester-Schmidt officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 at the County Line Cemetery near Yoakum, Texas. Published by the Victoria Advocate, January 30, 2015
