Fort Bend Herald, November 10, 2006: A Funeral Mass for Lillian Louise Sykowski, 83, of Rosenberg, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with the Rev. Dan Warden officiating. Interment will follow in West Gethsemane Cemetery in Rosenberg. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil/Rosary service at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2006 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Lillian was born Feb. 8, 1923 in Corn Hill, to Adolph Valenta and Alouise Knapek Valenta. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006. She will be remembered as a loving, happy and tender wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and for her willingness to give to others. She also will be remembered not only by all those she touched with her quilting, but also for her devotion to her church. Lillian was an active member of the K.J.Z.T and Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Alouise Valenta; and her brother, Adolph J. Valenta. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roman Sykowski, of Rosenberg; daughter, Dorothy Maresh and husband, John, of Granger; sons: Raymond Sykowski and wife, Suzanne, of Eagle Lake, Michael Sykowski and wife, Pilar, of Houston, Mark Sykowski and wife, Norma, of Needville; granddaughters: Michele Blanchette and husband, Wayne, of Springfield, Va., Sarah Permenter and husband, Lance, of Kingwood, Selena, Heather and Audrey Sykowski of Houston, and Cambrey and Skylar Sykowski of Needville; great-grandchildren: Abigail and Seth Permenter; along with numerous brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and all that loved her.
