Children were Ellen Srb Markytan of L.A., Hannah Srb Hultquist of Minden, and Marianne Srb Folda of Schuyler. _____ _____ (This 1949 letter about Marianne's Tuesday July 19 Wedding Reception at the Schuyler Legion Club is from Agnes Sabata Srb, Mrs. J. J. Srb, Marianne's mother, to her daughter Hannah Srb Hultquist at Minden Neb.) . Dwight Neb. July 22 Dear Hannah & Leroy . ….. I've made ten pints of apricot jam in between times since the wedding and put three gallons of cucumber in dill – Dad (Dr. J. J. Srb)took what I didn't use to (brother) Jerome (Srb) today. Now I'd like to use up some of those apples. . I haven't been doing very well on the sleeping. ….. But the big worry is over and I'll relax. It seemed to me the whole time that it was someone else not I, doing all that, and still does. I never felt that way before as tho it was some other "I" – It still seems to me that that wasn't our wedding – and I should still be working at it. . We got home about 12:30 – People started leaving at 10:30. When there was only a small group left, the orchestra moved out on the floor and just played other pieces for the fun of it. They play(ed) one piece where (nephew) Riley (Kovar) has a showy trombone solo, and they had to do that one three times. Some fellow went to the bar and got a lot of dimes (worth dollars today) and each time, they'd throw a shower of dimes and clap like everything. Every time Doc (Adolph) would say, "one more polka and that will be the last one" they would throw money & clap, so they kept them playing for about an hr. Just sat around an talked and listened. ..... J. J. was playing part time and Doug & Marie went back to Dodge for some music they had left there at the farm. I want to thank you, Leroy and you too, Hannah for being so swell about helping. ......
