Thanks to Find a Grave member Carolyn Brinkmeyer for the following information: Fort Bend Herald, April 24, 2007: A funeral Mass for Evan Cernoch, 86, of Rosenberg, is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with the Rev. Dan Warden officiating. Interment will follow in West Gethsemane Garden in Rosenberg. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Evan was born Sept. 15, 1920 in Ammannsville, to Vince Cernoch and Jenaefa Kredmer Cernoch. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 3903. He was a self-employed mechanic and truck driver with Ivan's Garage and Ivan's Trucking. He passed away April 22, 2007 in Houston. Evan was preceded in death by his parents, Vince and Jenaefa Cernoch; and his sisters, Mathilda, Viola and Annie. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy Knesek Cernoch; sons: Bobby Evan Cernoch and wife, Debbie Johnson Cernoch, Larry Wayne Cernoch, and Ricky Lee Cernoch and wife, Nan Goode Cernoch. He also is survived by grandchildren: Richard Cernoch, William Cernoch, Becky Cernoch, Nikki Cernoch, Melissa Dyches and husband, Walter, and LeAnn Cernoch; great-grandchildren: Randa Cernoch, Riann Cernoch, Riley Cernoch, Ryan Cernoch, Abby White; along with other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers are Jim Olive, Ernest Hravocy, Alton Kutac, Bill Knesek, Dennis Hudec and Cody Cook. For those wishing, memorial donations for Masses may be made in memory of Evan to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George St., Rosenberg, Texas, 77471 or to the VFW Post No. 3903 in Rosenberg.
